STUDENT PROGRAM - 90 Minute Presentation for Students (two 45-minute sessions)

This presentation will identify the keys to academic success, with emphasis on the importance and role of work in one’s achievement of success. “Work” has been defined as “activity involving mental or physical effort done in order to achieve a purpose or result.” Work is the engine that powers Mr. Rosensteel’s knowledge retention learning skill system (“Learning System”) - in fact, work is the engine that powers all learning. Further, this presentation will identify, in depth, the Learning System, which has three components: (i) learning how to read for a purpose; (ii) learning how to leverage the power of repetition; and (iii) learning how to dramatically increase learning at critical times.

MIDDLE SCHOOL HIGH SCHOOL COLLEGE PRESENTATIONS

Learning Success 101 is a learning system focusing primarily on students in 6th grade and beyond. The Learning System, however, has also been used successfully throughout adult careers and has proven particularly useful for professionals who are required to secure certifications and licenses.

Topics:

  • Students will learn the critical role and importance that work will play in their success in life. It is Tom’s belief that the critical role which work plays in a person’s success is not given enough recognition today.

  • Emphasis will be placed on demonstrating work’s important role and how successful individuals in all walks of life have deployed the power of work in achieving success.

  • Tom will explain the importance of work as it relates to a student’s ability to achieve academic success, and how work provides meaning in life – and how meaning always trumps happiness.

  • The Student Program will describe, in depth, the three components of the Learning System. Thorough explanation will be provided regarding how to read for a purpose and how students can develop and maximize reading skills necessary for successful careers and lives. The basis for most great accomplishments is the recognition of the significant role which repetition and practice play in achieving success. This principle will be explained as it applies specifically to learning and academic success. Further, the critical role that timing plays in achieving maximum learning at critical times is also thoroughly explained and demonstrated.

  • Students will be provided instruction on how to maximize and customize their learning skills while, at the same time, learning how to avoid common errors.

  • Following the initial presentation of approximately 90 minutes, students will participate in a demonstration on how to implement the Learning System.

  • A brief discussion of testing techniques for multiple choice and true/false tests will be included.

  • A question and answer session will conclude the Student Program.

In far too many instances, focus in the schools has to do with the “what” to learn, i.e., the curriculum, and not on the “how” to learn.

This faculty presentation will assist teachers in better appreciating the necessity and importance of arming each student with a customized learning skill system in order that he or she is able to achieve maximum results from his or her academic pursuits.

PARENT PROGRAM - 60 Minute Parent Presentation

Parents are often very determined to assist their children in maximizing their children’s academic experiences. Frequently, however, parents feel helpless and are without direction as to how they might better equip their children with the skills necessary to maximize academic success.

This presentation will not only enable parents to realize the necessity for helping their children develop a customized learning system, but also to realize the importance of assisting their children in learning “how” to learn. If parents focused more on the skills required for learning, rather than on the subject matter (in order words, the “how” to learn and not the “what” to learn), parents could better equip their children to achieve maximum academic success during their school years.

This presentation will introduce the information provided in the Student Program so that parents will become familiar with the information provided to their children and thereby be better able to instruct their children regarding the Learning System.
